Efficient manufacture of control cabinets thanks to automated conductor and cable marking from Phoenix Contact
In machining and preparation of conductors and cables there is still a large potential to increase efficiency. Up to 30% of working time in control cabinet manufacturing is currently devoted solely to identification processes.
Phoenix Contact Phoenix Contact guarantees a time savings of around 60 percent with the Thermomark E Series modular system, consisting of a roll-fed thermal transfer printer and three applicators. Printing and applying are done in a single automated process step. With the new system, the different cross-section ranges are identified with time savings using cable wrap labels, heat-shrink sleeves, or an innovative endless-format marker. For this, the markers are rotated in the printer and, subsequently, the applicator mounts it automatically on conductors and cables.
In combination with the ergonomic worker assistance system clipx Wire assist, its efficiency in conductor fabrication increases even further. The flexible and ergonomic workstation is guided, supported by software, through the semi-automatic conductor preparation and wiring process, controls the relevant output devices and provides the necessary information based on CAE data.
