Omnielectric, in collaboration with NUTAI and under the coordination of the Automotive and Mobility Cluster of the Valencian Community – AVIA, has been part of the CAREBAT project. This project aimed to acquire advanced scientific-technological knowledge and conduct industrial research in battery management techniques at the end of their first life.
Throughout the project, significant advances have been made in the characterization and disassembly of batteries, implementing treatment technologies and data analysis, as well as digital traceability. These innovations have allowed strengthening and consolidating the value chain of electric vehicles in the Valencian Community.
Omnielectric has researched Artificial Intelligence techniques for their application in identifying battery models and fault detection, to develop automated traceability and management systems, contributing to the digitization of these high value-added assets, key in future mobility.
In the CAREBAT project, a highly digitized and automated methodological process has been developed. This process ensures that used batteries can have a second life in various energy uses, thus promoting sustainability and energy efficiency. In addition, market research has been conducted that includes both battery manufacturers and the technical specifications of discarded products.
The CAREBAT project is co-funded by the 2023 call for Innovative Business Groupings (AEI file number AEI-010500-2023-98) of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism (MIRCOTUR), has had a significant impact on the automotive industry. The results obtained not only contribute to sustainability and resource efficiency, but also reinforce the circular economy in the Valencian Community.
