If you need to expand your SIMATIC S7-1200 CPU with few inputs and outputs, then Signal Boards are a good alternative to signal modules. The Signal Boards plug directly onto the front of the controller (also possible on CPU 1211C) and are available in models with analog and digital inputs and outputs as well as mixed configurations. The range also includes a Communication Board with RS 485 interface. The Signal Boards allow you to expand the configuration afterwards without taking up more space in the cabinet or enclosure.
