SIMATIC ET 200SP is a scalable and highly flexible decentralized I/O system with a modular structure. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it is perfect for mounting in small machine-level distribution boxes. The modules can be plugged directly into a CPU ET 200SP or connected to a central controller via PROFINET or PROFIBUS. SIMATIC ET 200SP can be expanded with up to 64 I/O modules, pluggable in any combination. The system offers a very wide range of modules. In addition, many modules are available in different variants, which significantly improve scalability in terms of functionality and price. For example, besides standard functionality modules (ST), other modules with extended functionality and diagnostics are also available (HF High Feature/HS High Speed). For budget-conscious applications, basic functionality modules (BA) are offered. The advantage of the ET 200SP system lies in its ease of application, e.g., thanks to the free choice of the PROFINET connection system via the BusAdapter, tool-free cabling via push-in technology, and easier access to wiring thanks to the new arrangement of the spring-terminal openings with the corresponding conductor entry, as well as per-channel diagnostics. Thanks to the possibility of replacing modules and terminal boxes during operation (“hot swapping”), the machine always maintains a high level of availability and productivity. The scalability and cost optimization of configuring an ET 200SP system is guaranteed with the complete range of signal modules. Digital input and output modules and analog modules with their respective safety variants for applications up to SIL 3/PLe are offered. This also applies to the integrated motor starters, suitable for motors up to 5.5 kW. Both Energy Meter, for measuring and analyzing energy consumption, as well as IO-Link Master (V1.1) and many other technological and communication modules enable adapting the system to any automation task.
