SIMATIC ET 200SP is a scalable and highly flexible decentralized peripheral system with a modular structure. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it is perfect for mounting in small machine-room distribution boxes near the machine. Modules can be plugged directly into an ET 200SP CPU or connected to a central controller via PROFINET or PROFIBUS. SIMATIC ET 200SP can be expanded with up to 64 peripheral modules, plug-in in any combination. The system offers a very wide range of modules. In addition, many modules are available in different variants, which significantly improves scalability in terms of functionality and price. For example, in addition to modules with standard functionality (ST), there are also those with extended functionality and diagnostics (HF High Feature/HS High Speed). For budget-conscious applications, basic functionality modules (BA) are offered. The advantage of the ET 200SP system lies in its ease of use, e.g., thanks to the free choice of the PROFINET connection system via the BusAdapter, tool-free cabling via push-in technology, and easier access to cabling thanks to the new arrangement of the spring-opening holes with the corresponding conductor entry, as well as per-channel diagnostic functions. Thanks to the possibility of changing modules and terminal boxes while the machine is running (“hot swapping”), the machine always maintains a high level of availability and productivity. The scalability and cost optimization of configuring an ET 200SP system are guaranteed with the complete range of signal modules. Digital input and output modules and analog modules with their respective safety variants for applications up to SIL 3/PLe are offered. This also applies to the integrated motor starters, suitable for motors up to 5.5 kW. Both Energy Meter, for measuring and analyzing energy consumption, as well as IO-Link Master (V1.1.) and many other technological and communication modules make it possible to adapt the system to any automation task.
